Hi All,
Hoping i can get some help here.
I'm looking to tackle a log issue which has come up.
I'm planning on using a shared datastore exclusively for logging in a environment with 200 hosts plus with a single datastore shared across all of the hosts. I can't find any documentation which suggests there is a limit on the number of concurrent connections to a VMFS datastore.
I've checked the configuration maximums document for vSphere 6.0 (its a vSphere 6 environment) which shows the maximum number of datastores a host is supported to have but not how many hosts can be connected to a single datastore.
I/O is a concern but wondering if there is any experience in the community or best practice that i haven't been able to find.
Our support team want one central place for these logs. I have considered using one datastore per-cluster with the limit of only 64 hosts accessing any given datastore, but curious if this could be done across clusters or is there a massive downside I haven't thought about?
Thanks in advance
